CrabaRide Waives All Passenger Fees Amid Rising Fuel Prices

CrabaRide has waived all passenger fees with immediate effect in response to rising fuel prices and growing pressure on everyday commuters.

Cape Town, South Africa - Crab a Ride, South Africa's largest carpooling platform, today announces it is waiving all passenger fees in response to the ongoing rise in fuel prices. The measure takes effect immediately and will remain in place until the next official fuel price decrease.

The announcement comes as industry leaders gather at ARDA Oil Week in Cape Town this week for high-level discussions on the trajectory of oil prices. With South Africans already spending up to 20% of their income on transport, the highest proportion globally, CrabaRide is taking direct action to protect everyday commuters from the knock-on effects of rising fuel costs.

"Our motto has always been: safe transport should be a right, not a luxury. While interacting with oil executives at ARDA discussing the future of fuel prices, we are standing by our commitment to making affordable mobility accessible to every South African - starting today," said Theodore Chartier, Co-Founder of CrabaRide.
